Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in program evaluation in K-12 schools, product research, or related activities.
- Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Research Methods, or a related field.
- Experience in applied research supporting product development, innovation, or continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of K-12 education, social-emotional learning, child development, or mental health.
- Experience designing surveys, interview/focus group protocols, and other research instruments.
- Experience working with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) for research protocols and ethical review.
- Strong knowledge of descriptive and inferential analysis techniques.
- Understanding of equity, inclusion, and representation principles in research.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Forms).
- Proficiency with statistical and qualitative software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to travel to the Seattle office 2 to 4 times per year.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews across disciplines like education, developmental psychology, and neuroscience to inform product development.
- Perform exploratory research to identify emerging student, educator, and market needs.
- Translate research evidence into practical recommendations for product design and content development.
- Execute concept testing, prototype evaluations, and user feedback studies to validate product opportunities.
- Develop and manage research plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Design data collection instruments, including surveys and focus group protocols.
- Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses and visualize data.
- Collaborate with the Innovation Team to validate assumptions and incorporate findings into the product lifecycle.
