Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant substation or general electrical T&D designing experience.
- Proficiency in computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Knowledge of substation voltages including MV, HV, and EHV.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner within project budgets.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute high-voltage substation projects in the 4kV – 765kV range.
- Generate detailed engineering deliverables under the supervision of lead engineers and project managers.
- Complete basic engineering calculations related to design and engineering deliverables.
- Develop one & three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and SCADA interface designs.
- Compile relay and control material lists and order materials as necessary.
- Investigate existing substation technical drawings and site conditions to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Travel to job sites for project assessments and data gathering as needed.
- Perform quality reviews of projects completed by peers.
