Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in payroll, payroll tax, or payroll compliance.
- Working knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Experience working with regulatory guidance documents or agency-issued tax form specifications.
- Strong analytical skills with extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict, non-negotiable compliance deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical findings.
- Proven organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Problem-solving mindset capable of navigating ambiguity.
- Eagerness to adopt AI technology, automation, and modern tooling for process efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Monitor federal, multi-state, and local tax legislation and translate changes into actionable requirements for product and engineering teams.
- Maintain accurate records of agency requirements, filing deadlines, and compliance status across jurisdictions.
- Execute compliance testing activities for year-end tax form updates, including creating test cases and data.
- Process payroll and generate PDF tax forms to compare output against agency specifications.
- Document discrepancies between requirements and system output for technical development teams.
- Identify and implement improvements to compliance workflows using automation and AI tools.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing testing coverage, traceability, and documentation quality.
