Requirements
- College degree (J.D. or paralegal degree preferred).
- 5 years of experience with regulatory examinations in an insurance company or broader financial industry.
- Experience with life insurance and annuity products is a plus.
- Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking and analytical capabilities.
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Strong computer research and investigative skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle pressure and prioritize multiple competing projects.
- Willingness to work overtime occasionally as needed.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage regulatory inquiries of PLICO and affiliated insurance companies by collecting information and researching applicable laws.
- Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies concerning insurance and securities activities.
- Partner with business and divisional compliance units to coordinate timely regulatory filings.
- Identify potential risk areas based on Market Conduct findings and work with Compliance Testing Groups to address issues.
- Interact with industry peers and regulators to stay informed on emerging regulatory trends.
- Maintain regulatory report updates to keep management informed of examinations and inquiries.
- Support compliance department leadership in developing and maintaining corporate compliance policies, including Privacy, AML, and Code of Conduct.
