Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, ML, or software engineering.
- 5+ years of management experience leading data or engineering teams.
- Strong experience with SQL, dbt, data modeling, pipeline reliability, and warehouse architecture.
- Experience building self-serve analytics systems (e.g., Omni, Looker, Amplitude, Statsig).
- Proven ability to lead complex data initiatives from planning through execution.
- Experience using experimentation, A/B testing, and metrics to inform business decisions.
- Ability to guide ML Engineering work in areas like search, recommendations, and personalization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in EdTech is a plus.
- Familiarity with marketplace systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a data team while remaining hands-on with data architecture, modeling, and analytics.
- Contribute directly as an individual contributor in data engineering and infrastructure.
- Lead data strategy and execution across systems including Redshift, dbt, and Opensearch.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver trusted data resources.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align on strategy, metrics, experimentation, and roadmap planning.
- Lead adoption of self-serve data practices across the organization.
- Define and implement modern data practices for analytics, experimentation, and applied AI/ML.
