Requirements

  • Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, physics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • 5+ years’ industry experience as a quantitative analyst or data scientist.
  • Deep quantitative expertise and experience in research domains.
  • Engineering proficiency to translate ideas into clear, production-ready code.
  • Strong scientific communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in greenfield domains and small, flat teams.
  • Experience in DSP, MIR, or music production is a plus.
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks, especially JAX.
  • Experience with GCP, Apache Beam/DataFlow, Kubernetes, and TensorFlow Data/TFRecord.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks for generative models.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own evaluation/optimization frameworks for frontier music models.
  • Formulate research questions and drive the end-to-end data roadmap.
  • Build robust data processing systems integrated into research and product tech stacks.
  • Apply findings to pretraining, post-training, and inference systems.
  • Conduct experiments spanning data mining, machine learning, and causal inference.
  • Define metrics and cultivate a culture of scientific rigor across the company.
