Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience.
- 6+ years focused on building and scaling production-grade ML systems.
- Extensive experience with ML Ops and LLM Ops patterns.
- Deep expertise in transformer models, LLM orchestration, embedding models, and inference optimization.
- Experience with vector stores.
- Understanding of Context Engineering lifecycle including semantic retrieval, contextual compression, and state management.
- Experience building cloud-based services using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence company-wide technical strategy.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive a long-term AI/ML architectural vision aligning with business goals.
- Own the strategic roadmap for Twilio’s ML/AI Ops platform and tooling.
- Evaluate and implement modern LLM architectures, RAG systems, MCP/tooling frameworks, and inference optimization.
- Lead architecture for agentic AI systems including orchestration, reasoning, and contextual grounding.
- Stay current with evolving advancements in LLMs, agent frameworks, and AI infrastructure.
- Partner with Product Management to map technical investments to customer value.
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship while contributing hands-on technical expertise.
