Requirements
- 3-6+ years of professional experience in designing, building, and operating production data pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience building production software using a modern data stack (cloud warehouses, dbt, Dagster/Airflow).
- Track record of leading technical work across multiple systems and scoping ambiguous problems.
- Strong written communication skills for documentation and explaining complex systems.
- Passion for progressive politics and leveraging data/technology to build political power.
- Judgment on balancing pragmatic shipping with system refactoring.
- Experience in on-call rotations and mentoring (nice to have).
- Knowledge of political sector data, such as voter files and campaign tools (nice to have).
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Shape pipelines and integrations feeding RCT platforms and voter datasets including APIs, replication, and experiment randomization.
- Extend the data platform and orchestration layer, optimizing for cost, runtime, and reliability for high-volume outreach.
- Lead projects spanning multiple systems and teams, from scoping and design to driving milestones.
- Maintain quality standards through code reviews, testing, and validating own work.
- Document and communicate system designs to both technical teammates and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call and rapid response rotations, including evening and weekend work during peak election cycles.
