Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining backend services in production, ideally in API or integration-heavy systems.
- Strong skills in designing for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Ability to own work from initial scoping to production rollout.
- Comfort in fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environments.
- Clear, thoughtful communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
- Product-oriented mindset focused on solving the right problems.
- Experience with TypeScript/Node, AWS services, PostgreSQL, or TimescaleDB is a plus.
- Familiarity with home energy assets (batteries, solar/inverters, HVAC, smart meters), energy markets, or IoT/device ecosystems is a plus.
- Prior exposure to API-first products or integration platforms is a plus.
- On-call or incident response experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain integrations with OEM cloud platforms across batteries, solar, smart meters, and HVAC.
- Design and evolve home energy APIs to unify telemetry and controls.
- Improve observability and vendor performance across integrations.
- Participate in the team's triage rotation.
- Collaborate with partnership and commercial teams on API feasibility for new integrations.
- Build relationships with customers to inform product development.
- Debug and ship production features in Node/TypeScript on an AWS-based stack.
