Requirements
- Good hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL provided tools, and contribution modules.
- Strong proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.
- Expertise in backup solutions such as pg_basebackup, pgBackRest, and WAL-G.
- Knowledge of Point-in-Time-Recovery.
- Experience with high availability solutions including replication, routers, and proxies.
- Practical experience with zero-downtime procedures.
- Demonstrable experience in Linux system administration.
- Ability to troubleshoot methodically and apply fixes for known errors.
- Capacity to think outside the box to resolve complex database issues.
- Experience working with customers in English.
- Self-taught and motivated to grow skill sets with new technologies.
- Ability to travel for occasional meetings or customer visits.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert assistance to customer DBA teams by investigating and resolving complex database issues.
- Gather relevant data and provide detailed analysis via email, instant message, or voice.
- Perform screen-sharing sessions to troubleshoot and resolve production-impacting issues.
- Author technical blog posts for the open-source community.
- Answer questions on company forums.
- Create and update articles in the customer-facing knowledge base.
- Host webinars for the community and customers.
- Travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, or customer visits.
