Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from a US school.
- 1+ years of teaching experience in English or college-level Writing Center work.
- Demonstrated academic excellence with a 3.5+ GPA.
- Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
- Access to reliable internet and a workspace with minimal noise.
- Availability during set hours of operation: Tue-Thu 1:30 pm - 9:30 pm CST, Sat-Sun 9:30 am - 5:30 pm CST.
Responsibilities
- Instruct small groups of students in English core skills to promote understanding and college readiness exam success.
- Track student progress through a multi-phase curriculum, facilitating individualized growth opportunities.
- Maintain student lesson schedules and hold students accountable for assignments.
- Model professionalism and organizational skills through timely student communication.
- Spearhead the development and creative execution of evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
- Mentor middle and high school students through the competitive college application process.
