Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business Management or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of Information Technology experience.
- 2+ years of relevant Information Security experience.
- Working knowledge of enterprise security detection technologies such as IDS/IPS, packet capture, and protocol analysis.
- Working knowledge of network protocols and operating systems, specifically TCP/IP, Windows, and Linux.
- Experience handling intake/response to information security events.
- Ability to adjust and present information to technical, management, and business stakeholders.
- Experience performing vulnerability testing/management is preferred.
- Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Managed Services environment is preferred.
- SANS GCIH, GCIA, or ISC2 certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform front line monitoring, security event response, triage, remediation and recovery activities for security events.
- Perform proactive and reactive incident response lifecycle activities.
- Leverage SIEM technologies, system logs, and network flow data to investigate security events.
- Function as incident handler to contain and correct identified issues, escalating as necessary.
- Assist with the selection, deployment, operation, and maintenance of security event detection technologies.
- Provide routine reporting on security event and incident handling activities.
- Contribute to the evolution of technical solutions and documentation for incident response and vulnerability analysis.
