Direct experience building with LLMs in production, beyond prototyping.
Strong grasp of prompting, context engineering, retrieval, and evaluation.
Proficiency in TypeScript and strong full-stack engineering fundamentals.
Rigor around evaluation and measuring AI quality with real data.
Product mindset and the ability to determine if outputs meet user standards.
Proactive, self-directed communication in a remote, async environment.
Experience with multi-agent systems, long-running agents, or memory architectures (nice to have).
Familiarity with background workers and durable job processing (nice to have).
Background in edtech or higher education (nice to have).

Own the direction of the AI infrastructure, including context, memory, and retrieval logic.
Design and iterate on prompts to ensure high-quality, accurate student interactions.
Build rigorous evaluation systems, including golden answers, traces, and production monitoring.
Tune frontier LLM models for cost, latency, and quality across various use cases.
Ship end-to-end AI-facing features across the full-stack platform.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to improve AI performance.
Monitor AI ecosystem releases to translate new techniques into product improvements.
