Requirements
- Significant experience building distributed systems or multi-tenant platform services (design, implementation, and production operations).
- Strong systems fundamentals including concurrency, performance, reliability, and failure-mode thinking.
- Proven record of shipping platform primitives such as APIs, control planes, or data planes used by others.
- Comfort owning operational outcomes, including SLOs and incident response.
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to perform trade-off analysis.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (nice to have).
- Experience with IAM/security boundaries for cross-account execution models (nice to have).
- Experience building Kubernetes controllers / CRDs or heterogeneous worker fleet operations (nice to have).
- Go programming experience (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Create new managed compute primitives for Temporal Cloud with clean APIs and extension capabilities.
- Design and implement self-optimizing autoscaling systems for worker fleets.
- Define the boundary for compute capabilities between the Open Source Server and Temporal Cloud.
- Architect and operate services on the hot path of task execution, ensuring performance and correctness.
- Deliver secure cloud integrations, including IAM boundaries, credential handling, and networking constraints.
- Maintain high standards for operability through SLOs, tracing, metrics, and incident reviews.
- Lead design documentation, code reviews, and mentorship across teams.
