Requirements
- Deep expertise in core Java, including concurrency primitives and data structure optimization.
- Proven track record of designing high-performance, scalable database or search engine technologies.
- Experience implementing techniques to efficiently index, store, and query time-series or logs data.
- Familiarity with data storage technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Prometheus.
- Strong ability to collaborate across functions and teams in a distributed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive decisions through asynchronous, direct, and transparent communication.
- Experience leveraging AI agents and tools for debugging, code optimization, and development acceleration.
- Strong technical leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural evolution of core storage engine components, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in indexing, serialization, and resource utilization.
- Drive cross-organizational initiatives to build industry-leading observability solutions.
- Work with a globally distributed team focused on logs and metrics capabilities in Elasticsearch.
- Improve operational standards by promoting clean code practices and untangling system complexity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, acting as a technical advisor and mentor to the engineering organization.
- Collaborate with the global community to triage, resolve, and review issues and pull requests.
