Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 15 years of relevant post-education experience in project management within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing services for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, or Munis.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering or construction teams on medium to large HV/EHV power delivery projects.
- Proficiency in project management processes including Contract Management, Change Management, and Risk Management.
- Experience with Earned Value Management and Schedule Management using tools like Primavera P6.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint) and project management software.
- Ability to lead effectively and elicit cooperation from diverse stakeholders and team members.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to travel periodically for face-to-face meetings at WSP or client offices.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- PE license is preferred.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities of the local and regional project management team to ensure alignment with business goals and quality standards.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle for high voltage and EHV projects, from proposal and startup to execution and closeout.
- Provide PM leadership for small to large scale projects, including budget oversight, risk management, and performance monitoring.
- Support department recruiting plans, conduct employee reviews, and establish mentoring relationships for new project managers.
- Engage project stakeholders at all levels and lead contract negotiations and client presentations.
- Drive technical reviews and ensure compliance with QA/QC plans.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding status, safety, budget, and scope.
- Oversee problem project reviews and develop recovery plans.
