Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 15 years of relevant post-education experience in project management within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience providing services for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, or Munis.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering or construction teams on medium to large HV/EHV power delivery projects.
  • Proficiency in project management processes including Contract Management, Change Management, and Risk Management.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and Schedule Management using tools like Primavera P6.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint) and project management software.
  • Ability to lead effectively and elicit cooperation from diverse stakeholders and team members.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically for face-to-face meetings at WSP or client offices.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • PE license is preferred.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities of the local and regional project management team to ensure alignment with business goals and quality standards.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle for high voltage and EHV projects, from proposal and startup to execution and closeout.
  • Provide PM leadership for small to large scale projects, including budget oversight, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Support department recruiting plans, conduct employee reviews, and establish mentoring relationships for new project managers.
  • Engage project stakeholders at all levels and lead contract negotiations and client presentations.
  • Drive technical reviews and ensure compliance with QA/QC plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding status, safety, budget, and scope.
  • Oversee problem project reviews and develop recovery plans.
