Requirements
- A few years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems.
- Strong general-purpose programming skills and software engineering fundamentals.
- Solid debugging skills and ability to performance-tune production services.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) with the discipline to validate outputs.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Growth mindset and ability to learn new tools and domains quickly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
Responsibilities
- Own backend features end-to-end: discovery, design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing reliability and operations.
- Design and evolve distributed systems including services, pipelines, and data stores for performance and scalability.
- Build and maintain APIs and data access patterns to support analytics and search.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines for product features and machine learning workloads.
- Ensure data reliability and performance while monitoring and troubleshooting pipelines.
- Build strong engineering habits including code reviews, testing, and operational excellence.
- Apply an experimentation-first approach, define metrics, and conduct A/B tests.
- Use AI coding tools for development tasks while maintaining correctness, security, and privacy.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and engineers to ship data-driven products.
