Requirements
- 8+ years of regulatory compliance experience in an Australian regulated financial services, consumer credit, payments, or fintech environment.
- Prior people management experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian consumer credit and conduct regulation.
- Familiarity with ASIC expectations, Australian credit licensing, and responsible lending.
- Experience with product governance, complaints, and breach-reporting requirements.
- Ability to lead regulatory change, compliance monitoring, testing, and remediation programs.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Relevant legal, compliance, risk, governance, or financial services qualification preferred.
- Strong judgment, decision-making, and executive communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Own and oversee the Australian regulatory compliance framework for consumer credit and financial services.
- Maintain documented compliance arrangements to support Australian credit licence obligations.
- Lead ASIC examinations, inquiries, information requests, and supervisory engagements.
- Maintain the Australian regulatory obligations register and manage the compliance risk assessment process.
- Monitor compliance metrics across responsible lending, complaints, hardship, and marketing.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of junior compliance professionals.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Credit, and Engineering teams to provide regulatory guidance.
