Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience at a senior level.
- Strong proficiency in Java or C++.
- 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role (solutions architecture, professional services, forward deployed, or named-account support).
- Cloud experience (AWS and/or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and running/debugging scalable distributed services.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for live customer systems, including log analysis, error diagnosis, and network traces.
- Open to AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- High autonomy and ability to own issues end-to-end.
- Ability to travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Contribute production code as an embedded member of the Encoding team's sprints using Java, Kotlin, or C++.
- Own US enterprise accounts technically by covering the timezone gap and triaging encoding issues.
- Drive incidents to resolution or a safe handover to the EU team.
- Travel to customer sites to support integrations, run workshops, and handle escalations in person.
- Feed field learnings and insights back into sprint planning and the product roadmap.
- Make autonomous escalate-vs-resolve decisions and maintain clear async communication with the engineering team.
