- Native-level fluency in the target language
- A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
- 3+ years demonstrable experience in localizing game video content.
- In depth and practical understanding of UI/menus, mission text, NPC ambient dialogue, and cutscene subtitles.
- Transcreation experience specifically within the gaming sector, translating NBA-related content for video games.
- Familiarity with game engines and localization pipelines.
- Knowledge of scripting formats (e.g., XML, JSON) is a plus.
- Passion for video games, especially sports, action, or narrative-driven titles.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Localize in-game text, UI, dialogue, subtitles, and narrative content for target languages while maintaining tone, style, and context.
- Ensure cultural relevance and sensitivity by adapting content appropriately for regional audiences.
- Review and edit localized content for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Support the maintanance of glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases.
- Work with localization QA teams to identify and resolve linguistic bugs in-game.
- Provide feedback on localization pipelines and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality.
