Requirements
- Native-level fluency in the target language (French).
- 3+ years demonstrable experience in localizing in-game video content.
- Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
- In-depth and practical understanding of translating UI/menus, mission text, NPC ambient dialogue, and locked cutscene subtitle blocks.
- Transcreation experience specifically within the gaming sector, translating NBA-related content for video games.
- Familiarity with game engines and localization pipelines.
- Knowledge of scripting formats such as XML or JSON is a plus.
- Passion for video games, especially sports, action, or narrative-driven titles.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Localize in-game text, UI, dialogue, subtitles, and narrative content while maintaining tone, style, and context.
- Ensure cultural relevance and sensitivity by adapting content appropriately for regional audiences.
- Review and edit localized content for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Support the maintenance of glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases.
- Work with localization QA teams to identify and resolve linguistic bugs in-game.
- Provide feedback on localization pipelines and suggest improvements for efficiency and quality.
- Coordinate with language teams.
