Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience with Embedded C programming.
- Foundation level software development experience.
- Ability to analyze software requirements and open problem reports.
- Project management and leadership capabilities for software development teams.
- Knowledge of safety-critical development standards such as DO-178.
- Experience with PowerPC based systems.
- Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) like LynxOS-178.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, certification, and sustainment of foundation software for safety-critical military applications.
- Serve as the software project engineer, supplying project management and technical direction during all program phases.
- Manage impacts to foundation software due to hardware obsolescence and customer driven changes to fielded products.
- Analyze requirements, software, and open problem reports for PowerPC based systems using LynxOS-178.
- Manage small development teams and guide entry-level to experienced engineers.
- Ensure consistency with technical engineering processes and compliance with DO-178 certification requirements.
