Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in safety and training.
- Experience hiring drivers out of different states within the US.
- Solid understanding of the trucking industry.
- Expertise in Hours of Service (HOS) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience in driver training, recruitment, and safety and compliance is an asset.
- At least three years of truck driving experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for drivers and maintain a pool of prospective candidates.
- Source, recruit, screen, and interview driver candidates via cold calling, email, and digital resources.
- Understand different licenses and documentation for hiring CDL drivers across various US states.
- Assist candidates with employment applications and ensure all paperwork is submitted.
- Conduct background checks, perform road tests, and provide driver training.
- Ensure compliance with company, client, OSHA, and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Conduct facility safety inspections and develop accident and injury prevention programs.
- Investigate vehicle accidents and employee injuries while preparing related reports.
- Schedule and present safety orientation programs and monthly safety meetings.
