Requirements
- Deep technical foundation in cloud-native/Serverless, Kotlin/Go, gRPC/REST, and modern software engineering practices.
- Proven experience building foundational platform capabilities or complex distributed systems, specifically in fraud/risk engines or PCI-scoped infrastructure.
- Ability to lead architectural discussions on platform infrastructure as it applies to fraud detection and secure card data systems.
- Track record of driving delivery velocity, unblocking engineering teams, and managing dependencies across multiple domains.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize DORA metrics.
- Commercial sharpness with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs like tech debt vs. feature velocity to executive stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of fraud/risk scoring models and tokenization standards is preferred.
- Familiarity with PCI DSS card vaulting requirements and account updater services is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own single-threaded leadership (STL) for Risk, Trust & Vault, translating business goals into versioned APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Drive agentic strategy by moving client onboarding toward low-to-no coding and transitioning manual risk review to an autonomous AI engine.
- Protect the stability floor by maintaining high automated quality assurance for real-time fraud screening and card vaulting.
- Provide cross-functional leadership to a high-ownership pod of engineers in partnership with Staff Engineers and the CTO Office.
- Embed a 'You Build It, You Run It' (YBIYRI) culture, ensuring team ownership of microservices in production via a follow-the-sun model.
- Prioritize the roadmap using the RICE framework to balance architectural integrity against market needs.
