Requirements

  • BA/BS in life sciences or BA/BS in English with pharmaceutical agency/medical communications experience.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in the medical communication, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare industry.
  • Command of American Medical Association (AMA) style.
  • Strong proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong proficiency with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts for managed care audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytic, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Highly team- and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop strategic, high-quality, and medically accurate content for medical communications resources.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to create compelling content that meets client objectives.
  • Review project briefs, timelines, and content for scientific accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Liaise directly with clients on strategy and content-related matters, including medical, legal, and regulatory review meetings.
  • Discuss medical content with external stakeholders including medical professionals and managed care customers.
  • Supervise 2–4 medical writers and/or scientific associates and track their personal development.
  • Assist in the development of new business proposals and present at pitch meetings.
