Requirements
- 2 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health.
- Experience working with adults in need of general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
- Experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 years+).
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and substance abuse dual-diagnoses.
- Proficiency in treatment planning and conducting comprehensive assessments.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and quality documentation.
- Comfortable with telehealth software and video communication.
- Must be open to obtaining additional state licensures.
- For clinicians holding a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is required.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms and complaints.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.
- Conduct individual psychotherapy for chronic or acute mental disorders.
- Order diagnostic testing including EKGs and lab work as needed.
- Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor usage, side effects, and treatment response.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and evaluate treatment plans.
- Educate patients and family members regarding conditions, medications, and care plans.
- Document medical and psychological histories, assessments, and outcomes in the EHR.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and national standards of care.
