Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, communications, Indigenous studies, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of experience in Indigenous relations, community engagement, stakeholder relations, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous community and cultural considerations, protocols, and trust-building.
  • Proven ability to work independently while coordinating with a broader project team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Power BI.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Strong general computer skills.
  • Experience supporting construction, energy, utilities, infrastructure, or linear projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal project and procurement teams to support Indigenous engagement objectives and workforce participation.
  • Build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous communities and leadership through meaningful communication.
  • Identify and support the resolution of project risks or community concerns.
  • Create and distribute community communications, project updates, and information packages for stakeholders.
  • Produce regular reports tracking hiring, workforce hours, and procurement spend.
  • Coordinate and attend engagement events such as career fairs and open houses.
  • Assist in the development of engagement plans and Indigenous participation targets.
