Requirements
- Genuine strength across both MySQL and Postgres.
- Direct experience with database migrations in a customer-facing capacity.
- Comfortable owning technical execution rather than just advising.
- Strong productisation instinct to turn bespoke work into repeatable patterns.
- Strong written and async communication skills.
- Comfort operating with autonomy to define role scope.
- Experience at a database tooling or infrastructure company is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS-based infrastructure or PaaS environments is a plus.
- Experience with AWS DMS or comparable migration tooling is a plus.
- Some familiarity with PHP applications is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Execute database migrations with enterprise and Private Cloud customers.
- Assume ownership of the PlanetScale relationship and migration work.
- Productise repeatable migration patterns for better self-service outcomes.
- Automate recurring migration requests to eliminate manual effort.
- Own broader application and service migrations onto Private Cloud as capacity allows.
- Document processes through runbooks and training to enable Sales and Engineering teams.
- Monitor market alternatives like PlanetScale, Aurora, and Percona to maintain competitive offerings.
