Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or related quantitative field, OR Master's degree with 8+ years of applied ML experience.
- Deep expertise in recommender systems, personalization, ranking/retrieval, or computational advertising.
- Expert-level Python skills.
- Deep proficiency with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with recommendation-specific tooling such as NVTabular, Merlin, or Triton.
- Strong experience with cloud-based ML infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Databricks).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and low-latency model serving.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience architecting large-scale data pipelines and feature stores.
- Demonstrated experience defining technical roadmaps and making long-term architectural decisions.
- Ability to present complex technical work to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using modern AI tools for software development.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for personalization and recommender systems to meet business goals.
- Propose and deliver R&D projects that shape long-term deliverables and cross-team roadmaps.
- Design and lead the development of scalable, maintainable software systems.
- Ensure multi-service personalization products meet SLAs and adapt to changing business needs.
- Establish and enforce experimentation best practices, including A/B testing and offline evaluation.
- Lead team meetings, make technical decisions, and unblock projects.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through data-driven communication.
- Mentor senior and mid-level scientists and establish code quality standards.
