Requirements
- Active CPA license.
- Deep US GAAP fluency and demonstrated ownership of a full audit-ready close.
- Hands-on experience in TradFi (positions, NAV, brokerage, or fund accounting).
- Hands-on crypto-native accounting experience (onchain reconciliation, DeFi protocol revenue, stablecoins).
- Ability to read a block explorer and understand smart contract interactions.
- Proficiency with a core ERP (e.g., QuickBooks) and a crypto subledger.
- Proven experience building or rebuilding a finance function in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.
- Strong ownership mentality and ability to operate as the entire function independently.
- Experience in multi-entity international accounting (bonus).
- Background in VC-backed startup audit and fundraising support (bonus).
- Deep expertise in crypto tax (bonus).
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly and quarterly close across all entities, consolidating fiat and onchain activity into US GAAP financials.
- Value the protocol's collateral pool, open positions, and P&L, including reconciling fee, funding, spread, and liquidation revenue.
- Perform daily onchain state to books reconciliation.
- Manage crypto treasury, stablecoin flows, wallet-level reconciliation, gas, and protocol revenue.
- Build the reconciliation and control environment from the ground up, leveraging AI tools.
- Manage external auditors, drive audit readiness, and coordinate crypto and multi-entity tax.
- Manage cash and stablecoin balances, runway, and deliver investor and board reporting.
- Own core accounting functions including AP, payroll, vendor management, and equity/token compensation.
