Requirements
- University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or Linguistic Studies (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Native-level fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken in a variety of registers.
- 4+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
- 2+ years of review experience.
- Thorough understanding of the localization process.
- Proficiency with standard software including Windows and Office applications.
- Experience with standard CAT tools (e.g., XTM, SDL Studio).
- Experience with issue tracking and query management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters.
- Ability to work within a virtual team and train/teach others.
Responsibilities
- Perform copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts.
- Perform on-demand translation tasks.
- Provide lead support on assigned projects or accounts.
- Manage and maintain language materials including glossaries, style guides, and work instructions.
- Manage project-related queries and resolve terminology and language matters.
- Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors.
- Develop and train internal linguists and external partners.
- Interact with clients on linguistic matters as required.
- Participate in the development of new and improved working processes.
- Meet or exceed KPIs in terms of productivity, on-time delivery, and quality.
