Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a professional software engineering or technical environment.
  • 4+ years of professional software design and development experience.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with experience in Agile, Lean, or Kanban methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with technologies such as .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Classic ASP, VB Script, Entity Framework, WPF, JavaScript, IIS, HTML, CSS, XML/XSLT, MSMQ, or related development frameworks.
  • Experience using development tools and source control platforms such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud development environments such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver practical solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support the growth of other engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, document, and maintain flexible and scalable software solutions following established engineering standards and best practices.
  • Analyze technical challenges and implement effective solutions using strong software design principles and practical development experience.
  • Review, modify, enhance, and maintain existing applications by resolving issues, improving performance, and addressing security vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in planning sessions, user story analysis, and technical discussions to translate business requirements into effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support software development processes, Agile practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including software changes, development standards, and best practices.
  • Contribute to application architecture decisions and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Support and mentor other software engineers by sharing technical knowledge and development expertise.
