Requirements
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Direct ownership of the monthly and annual close process.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Working knowledge of Canadian ASPE/IFRS reporting requirements.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience managing general ledger, bank, and intercompany reconciliations at scale.
- Experience leading or supporting year-end financial statement audits.
- Working knowledge of Canadian statutory and tax compliance requirements.
- US multi-entity exposure is a plus.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or significant business change is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead the monthly and annual consolidated financial statements across all entities.
- Perform financial close functions, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and variance review.
- Manage general ledger, bank, and intercompany reconciliations with a focus on data integrity.
- Coordinate year-end financial statement audits and serve as the point of contact for external auditors.
- Ensure internal accounting policies and financial controls are consistently followed company-wide.
- Support M&A activities by integrating acquired entities into financial systems and reporting structures.
- Partner with FP&A and cross-functional teams to investigate financial results and assist in budget cycles.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase the speed and scalability of accounting cycles.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to optimize reconciliations and reporting processes.
