Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing backend product engineering teams within security, DevOps, platform engineering, or related technical environments.
  • Proven experience building, mentoring, and developing engineering teams in distributed and remote environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of backend systems, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery practices.
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully to architecture discussions involving package registries, supply chain security, artifact management, and signing infrastructure.
  • Experience managing multi-quarter product roadmaps, technical priorities, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of software supply chain security concepts, artifact management, compliance-focused products, or related domains.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and ecosystems such as SLSA and Sigstore is highly valued.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an asynchronous, documentation-driven environment.
  • Experience working with global teams and collaborating across multiple time zones.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a backend engineering team responsible for developing software supply chain security capabilities, including dependency security, build provenance, malicious package detection, and artifact signing.
  • Drive engineering delivery by aligning priorities, scope, sequencing, dependencies, and execution plans with technical and product stakeholders.
  • Establish effective team processes, operating rhythms, and delivery practices to ensure predictable and high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and mentor engineers through regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, career development planning, and ongoing coaching.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts by partnering on sourcing strategies, interview processes, candidate evaluation, and hiring decisions.
  • Monitor engineering quality indicators such as delivery velocity, defect rates, testing practices, and technical risks while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate roadmap planning and tradeoff discussions across engineering, product, and leadership teams.
  • Manage team growth planning, including headcount needs, resource allocation, and organizational scaling.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, technical decisions, and engineering practices related to security platforms, package ecosystems, and CI/CD workflows.
