Requirements
- Two years of medical billing and customer service experience preferred.
- BS/BA degree preferred.
- Proven experience managing high volume phone calls and emails.
- Proficiency in de-escalating situations involving dissatisfied customers.
- Knowledge of medical billing terminology and processes such as EOBs and claims.
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Must be based in the state of Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Maintain incoming patient calls and respond to voicemails promptly and professionally.
- Manage patient billing emails and portal messages with prompt resolution.
- Serve as a liaison between billing and operations for patient balance inquiries.
- Collect patient payments and assist in posting payments.
- Manage accounts with credit cards on file and identify patient/insurance refunds.
- Create and manage patient payment plans and weekly statement files.
- Handle mailing of secondary claims and collection letters.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
