Requirements

  • Two years of medical billing and customer service experience preferred.
  • BS/BA degree preferred.
  • Proven experience managing high volume phone calls and emails.
  • Proficiency in de-escalating situations involving dissatisfied customers.
  • Knowledge of medical billing terminology and processes such as EOBs and claims.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Must be based in the state of Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain incoming patient calls and respond to voicemails promptly and professionally.
  • Manage patient billing emails and portal messages with prompt resolution.
  • Serve as a liaison between billing and operations for patient balance inquiries.
  • Collect patient payments and assist in posting payments.
  • Manage accounts with credit cards on file and identify patient/insurance refunds.
  • Create and manage patient payment plans and weekly statement files.
  • Handle mailing of secondary claims and collection letters.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
