Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Node.js, Go, Python, or Java.
- Proven experience designing APIs and services used by customers or high-scale systems.
- Strong relational database experience, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on cloud experience, specifically AWS.
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, identity, and security or fraud prevention.
- Ability to work across the stack with modern frontend frameworks like React or Vue.
- Strong communication skills and professional judgment in a remote team environment.
- Experience with identity, OAuth, SAML, SSO, or JWTs is considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs for identity verification and account protection.
- Manage database schema design, migrations, query performance, and data integrity.
- Develop and harden authentication, authorization, and data-protection systems.
- Architect systems for high availability, idempotency, failure handling, and observability.
- Partner with product and design teams to build secure, user-facing workflows.
- Create internal tools and dashboards to enhance operational visibility and developer efficiency.
- Debug and resolve complex production issues across the stack.
- Contribute to technical roadmap, code reviews, and peer mentorship.
