Requirements
- Deep, hands-on experience running production workloads on a major cloud platform, ideally Google Cloud.
- Track record of operating Kubernetes in production, from cluster operations to workload patterns.
- Fluency with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform.
- Strong cloud security fundamentals across identity and access, secrets, and network security.
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and improving developer workflows.
- Comfortable being hands-on in the codebase (Elixir preferred, or strong background in Ruby).
- Seniority to own and shape a function, making independent architecture decisions.
- Enablement-first mindset, focusing on building guard rails and paved roads.
- Familiarity with reliability practices such as SLOs and incident management.
- Experience with ISO 27001 or SOC 2 compliance is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud to ensure it is structured, secured, and scaled.
- Extend infrastructure-as-code coverage to ensure changes are repeatable, reviewable, and safe.
- Build on identity, access, and secrets management, maturing least-privilege access and rotation.
- Maintain a strong, audit-ready security posture, including managing ISO 27001 certification.
- Own the Kubernetes platform end-to-end, keeping clusters and workloads current and reliable.
- Manage and improve build and deployment pipelines on self-hosted Buildkite.
- Perform upgrades and patching across the platform, including DNS and certificate management.
- Improve infrastructure observability and visibility for cost, health, and performance.
