Requirements
- 5+ years of Kubernetes platform engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience implementing Envoy in production environments.
- Experience migrating from Kong, NGINX, Apigee, or similar API Gateway technologies.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Familiarity with Service Mesh concepts and Envoy Proxy.
- Knowledge of xDS APIs, Gateway API / Ingress, TLS, mTLS, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.
- Experience with GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Jaeger/OpenTelemetry.
- Strong Linux and networking knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement an enterprise-grade Envoy deployment in Kubernetes.
- Define the target architecture for Envoy as API Gateway and/or Service Proxy.
- Plan and execute the migration from Kong to Envoy with minimal service disruption.
- Configure routing, load balancing, TLS, mTLS, authentication, authorization, and traffic management.
- Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing for the Envoy platform.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation.
- Produce architecture documentation, operational procedures, and migration guides.
- Work closely with architects, platform engineers, and application teams.
- Transfer knowledge to the internal operations team.
