Requirements
- RN license required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hospice experience.
- 3+ years of clinical compliance or audit experience.
- Proficiency in Medicare hospice documentation requirements.
- Understanding of eligibility criteria and terminal prognosis validation.
- Experience with pre-bill clinical chart auditing.
- Knowledge of GIP, Continuous Care, and Respite documentation standards.
- Ability to develop educational materials for clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-bill clinical chart audits to ensure compliance with Medicare hospice regulations.
- Validate documentation supporting terminal prognosis, eligibility, and level of care.
- Provide ongoing education and guidance to intake teams regarding documentation standards.
- Perform focused pre-bill audits to prepare for and respond to external audits including TPE-related activity.
- Manage specialized reviews including Long Length of Stay (LLOS), GIP, Continuous Care, and Respite documentation.
- Track audit outcomes, identify trends, and communicate findings to leadership to drive performance improvement.
