- At least 3-4 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of reproductive health issues, advocacy, and the Michigan political landscape.
- Demonstrated skill in partnering with cross-functional areas to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills, including familiarity with tools like Asana.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to race equity and Planned Parenthood's mission and values.
- Ability to travel for statewide events as necessary.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Development leadership team, ensuring alignment between communications and organizational priorities.
- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing communications team while fostering professional growth.
- Lead crisis communications efforts, crafting rapid response strategies and mitigating reputational risks.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources using tools like Asana.
- Oversee content creation including press releases, op-eds, speeches, and donor communications.
- Build relationships with media outlets and serve as a spokesperson when needed.
- Monitor KPIs to assess impact and optimize communication strategies.
- Direct marketing of healthcare and education services and oversee electoral communications for PAC/SuperPAC entities.
