Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service role.
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare field.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and EMR systems (e.g., Epic).
- Ability to work part-time (24 hours per week).
- Availability to work 8-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM EST, seven days a week.
- Requirement to work at least one weekend shift per week.
- Must have a dedicated work area separated from living areas ensuring privacy.
- Ability to maintain UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection.
- Ability to come onsite in Norwood, MA for initial equipment pickup and training.
Responsibilities
- Support a high volume of calls for multiple regions, departments, or service lines.
- Screen incoming patient inquiries via phone or messaging to determine appropriate resolution.
- Document call details in electronic medical records using standardized tools and free text.
- Initiate requests for forms, letters, medication renewals, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Review and update patient record information including demographics, PCP selection, and insurance.
- Deescalate issues with patients and provide options for issue resolution.
- Mentor and train Patient Service Level I staff.
- Participate in problem-solving activities and department process improvement initiatives.
