Requirements

  • 2-4 years of claims experience with a strong background in Workers' Compensation coverage.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Active state-specific Workers' Compensation License or ability to acquire within three months of hire.
  • Willingness to obtain additional state-specific licenses during employment as needed.
  • Proficiency in claims principles, practices, and insurance coverage interpretation.
  • Ability to work remotely within MN, SD, WI, PA, or IA.
  • Technical designations such as AIC and CPCU are encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, gather, and transmit workers' compensation information accurately from insured parties, claimants, and internal staff.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex workers' compensation claims.
  • Mediate between the insured and the insurance company, including researching coverage issues.
  • Maintain accurate claim information and final settlement details in the computer system.
  • Generate checks for indemnity and medical payments on a daily basis.
  • Monitor consistency in procedural matters for claims handling.
  • Compile and interpret workers' compensation reports for designated accounts.
  • Adjudicate lost time claims and participate in claim reviews or Risk Control Workshops.
