Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering or similar roles in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for backend development and React or Angular with TypeScript for frontend development.
  • Experience working across system architecture, API design, and scalable application development.
  • Exposure to AI technologies and integrating or experimenting with AI-driven capabilities is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and practices such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform (preferred).
  • Experience working in cloud or distributed system environments with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Strong leadership abilities with prior experience mentoring or guiding engineering teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a mission-driven, collaborative, and remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, maintenance, and operational performance of full-stack applications supporting large-scale federal healthcare systems.
  • Build and enhance applications using Python on the backend and React (or Angular) with TypeScript on the frontend.
  • Research and introduce new technologies, including AI-driven solutions, through proofs of concept and system modernization initiatives.
  • Lead technical design decisions and contribute to architecture across one or more products or services.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, supporting their growth and encouraging technical ownership and collaboration.
  • Enforce and improve engineering processes, ensuring alignment across the team while balancing tradeoffs effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with healthcare service design and user needs.
  • Support continuous improvement of systems supporting CMS Quality Management and Review programs.
