Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, information technology, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering, Data Operations, or SRE role supporting production data environments.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis.
- Experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
- Exposure to ETL tools such as Fivetran, DBT, Workato, or equivalent.
- Experience with Python-based API frameworks and API management tools.
- Experience with RDBMS such as MySQL, AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with data warehousing tools like Databricks, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Snowflake.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps tools and practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary responder for production data incidents, diagnosing root causes and implementing fixes.
- Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for production data pipelines.
- Manage, deploy, and maintain data and integration pipelines and APIs.
- Continuously identify and implement optimizations to improve the speed, scalability, and efficiency of data processing jobs.
- Develop and enforce data validation and quality checks within pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on managing AWS-based infrastructure.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for operational procedures, architectures, and troubleshooting runbooks.
