- Experience
- Minimum eight (8) years' experience as a Surgeon; minimum five (5) years as staff or attending Surgeon in high volume/high acuity or critical access environment; minimum five (5) years U.S. Military or Government Sponsored experience.
Requirements
- Active SECRET or higher security clearance
- Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or U.S. Territory
- Current Board Certification through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. school
- Minimum eight (8) years' experience as a Surgeon
- Minimum five (5) years' experience as staff or attending Surgeon in a high volume/high acuity or critical access environment
- Minimum five (5) years U.S. Military or Government Sponsored experience
- U.S. Military or Government Sponsored deployment within the last 3 years in an austere environment
- Current ACLS, PALS, & BLS training (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Current and unrestricted DEA license
- Current United States Passport
Responsibilities
- Practice acute care surgery in austere and limited resource environments
- Perform examinations, diagnoses, and surgical treatments, including damage control surgery
- Provide consultation and advice as a surgical subject matter expert
- Conduct and supervise direct patient care, including surgical critical care and damage control surgical interventions
- Supervise nursing and support personnel during resuscitation, perioperative, and post-operative phases
- Plan and conduct Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) missions for ICU level patients
- Perform special staff functions and medical training as required
