Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline; equivalent industry or military experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting controls engineering activities in industrial or critical environments.
  • Experience with system installation, testing, start-up, commissioning, or operations.
  • Exposure to control system integration involving multiple vendors, subsystems, and field devices.
  • Working knowledge of control theory fundamentals, including proportional-integral-derivative (PID) concepts.
  • Familiarity with PLC or SCADA-based control systems and standard industrial programming environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, control diagrams, network schematics, and control panel drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical or mechanical controls systems installation, service, or field support.
  • Experience working with BMS, EPMS, or industrial automation platforms in an operational support capacity.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, test procedures, and basic safety/regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation, test reports, and operational reference materials.
  • General knowledge of critical data center equipment (generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, chillers, AHU/CRAH/CRAC).

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment of data center control and monitoring systems during construction and commissioning (L1-L5) activities.
  • Assist with validation and documentation of controls and monitoring systems, performance, ensuring deliverables are complete, accurate, and suitable for handover.
  • Provide technical support related to building operations, mechanical and electrical plant controls, BMS/EPMS systems, and associated field devices.
  • Execute point-to-point verification, software logic checks, and graphics testing to confirm operability and design alignment.
  • Participate in commissioning testing to validate controls settings, alarm thresholds, system integrations, and infrastructure operability.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of controls-related operational issues, such as Loss of Visibility (LOV) or Loss of Resilience (LOR).
  • Collaborate with internal and vendor teams to identify defects, document findings, and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including test results, commissioning records, as-built updates, and operational reference materials.
