Requirements
- 10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or database engineering.
- Proven track record of owning architecture at scale.
- Expert-level, hands-on experience designing and scaling large-scale NoSQL databases, specifically Couchbase and DynamoDB.
- Deep expertise designing cloud-native data platforms on AWS, including complex on-premises-to-cloud migrations.
- Staff-to-Principal-level software engineering proficiency with the ability to build production-quality code (C# preferred).
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS, SNS).
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and experience acting as a force multiplier by mentoring engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Set the north-star data strategy and multi-year roadmap for NetDocuments' data architecture.
- Drive the AWS re-architecture of large-scale, on-premises and legacy data systems into cloud-native platforms.
- Architect and optimize large-scale NoSQL systems, including Couchbase and DynamoDB, focusing on modeling, partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Build reliable, observable, real-time event-driven data systems using Kafka, SQS, and SNS.
- Establish and enforce data governance and security standards, ensuring alignment with SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA frameworks.
- Shape data foundations to support analytics, AI, ML, and GenAI capabilities.
- Prototype new technology solutions and guide build-versus-buy evaluations.
- Influence architectural strategy through reviews, RFC processes, and cross-functional leadership.
