Requirements
- Three or more years of professional experience in journalism, communications, media relations, think tanks, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, precise, and compelling prose.
- Good editorial instinct with the ability to review drafts for structure, clarity, and impact.
- Strong media awareness, including an understanding of how newsrooms work and interest in global affairs.
- Strong organizational, project management, and operational skills.
- Analytical skills to monitor media coverage and identify patterns.
- Interpersonal and relationship-building ability to maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively across cultural difference in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and coverage analysis.
- Experience with Salesforce, Account Engagement (newsletter system), or similar CRM systems.
- Experience supporting spokesperson preparation or media training.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Media and Public Engagement in managing engagement with journalists, editors, and media platforms.
- Conduct targeted media landscape analysis to identify relevant platforms and journalists.
- Maintain and optimize media contact databases and manage incoming media queries.
- Support the development of op-eds, essays, and media commentary, including research and drafting support.
- Project manage and contribute to the editorial output and audience development of public engagement platforms.
- Manage the development and maintenance of a spokesperson database and coordinate preparation for media opportunities.
- Lead the logistics of team events, including scheduling and briefing documents.
