Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, natural resources, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of research or related experience.
  • Experience with LifeSim modeling software.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical presentations.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and related software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and manage multiple project assignments.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, economics, or natural resources (preferred).
  • Professional registration (P.E.) (preferred).
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, Flo-2D, and ArcGIS (preferred).
  • Knowledge of risk-informed decision-making concepts and regulatory requirements related to dam safety (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform dam and levee consequence analyses in support of screening-level, semi-quantitative (SQRA), and fully quantitative risk assessments (QRA).
  • Apply state-of-the-practice consequence estimation software (e.g. LifeSim) and methodologies.
  • Review or perform detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
  • Apply engineering and/or economic skills to evaluate natural resource and environmental hazards.
  • Conduct GIS analysis and develop data visualizations.
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Interact with client representatives through presentations, elicitations, and risk management exercises.
  • Manage project-level tasks and support business development and staff mentoring.
