Requirements
- 8+ years of experience maintaining and optimizing high-traffic production Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
- Expert knowledge of Snowflake.
- Professional experience with Terraform, AWS, GitLab, and Octopus Deploy.
- Expert-level knowledge of Docker and production experience with Kubernetes (K8s) for stateful applications.
- Knowledge of Model Context Protocol and experience using LLMs for coding or automation.
- Expert-level scripting proficiency in Python and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with C# and object-oriented programming (OOP).
- Expertise in tuning queries generated from ORMs such as Entity Framework and Dapper.
- Hands-on experience with DynamoDB, OpenSearch, and Redis.
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent direct work experience.
Responsibilities
- Explore and implement AI tools, LLM integrations, and Model Context Protocol to automate database operations.
- Optimize Snowflake performance including application packaging and testing.
- Perform deep-level optimization of MSSQL and PostgreSQL at server, database, and query levels.
- Forecast resource utilization and implement cost-saving optimizations for Snowflake and AWS infrastructure.
- Automate data infrastructure using Terraform, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Manage deployment pipelines using GitLab and Octopus Deploy for schema changes.
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and developer self-service guides.
- Serve as subject matter expert during 24/7/365 on-call rotations.
